Motorcycles and other stuff from a New Yorker living in Tokyo
It's been a long time coming, but we finally have a third entry in the Moronic Movie Motorcycles (or MMM, for short) series. Here's parts 1 and 2.

Really, really long-time readers may remember this definition:
An MMM is any motorcycle in a movie (or TV show or commercial) used in a way that is physically impossible, utterly ridiculous, or just plain dumb.
The latest example comes from the new sci-fi action film "Ultraviolet". In its review of the film, MoreTV32.com writes:
When Violet, played by the lithesome Milla Jovovich, is riding a motorcycle while being chased by two police helicopters, and she starts riding the motorcycle UP the SIDE of a skyscraper with the aid of some sort of gravity-bending device... well, it's hardly realistic, but it looks exciting, like "Kill Bill" crossed with Japanese anime.
A gravity-bending device? Sounds great. I plan on installing one next week.

Here's the trailer on YouTube. You can catch a brief glimpse of the wall-riding bike in action toward the end; don't blink or you'll miss it.

Does anime count? If so, I can cite several egregious cases of impossible motorcycle stunts, beginning with the movie Akira. (Like jumping off the end of a broken bridge and safely landing on the ground 35 feet below, without popping tires, wrecking suspension, or breaking the rider's back.)

I'm willing to cut anime some slack, since much of what happens in cartoons is more exaggerated than what could happen in live action anyway.

At the very least, if a live-action movie features bike stunts that are less believable than what happens in the average anime, it's an MMM.
