You can't be a superpower if you're this insecure:
Apparently, some Israeli tourists going to travel in China with the latest Lonely Planet book were asked to hand in their very expensive book at the border-crossing due to its 'political nature' showing maps of China which color Taiwan in a different color suggesting that Taiwan is not a part of China.
From fiLi’s world, based on this Israeli message board post. I found it on Asiapundit, which got it from The View from Taiwan. Truly, the Web is a powerful tool.

Rage:
I work for a company in HK and we constantly have to remind our overseas collegues to not use maps without Hainan island or maps showing Taiwan in a different color when sending out leavlets or exhibition stuff or such to our offices on the Mainland.

Also, all our corporate websites (even the international ones) aren't allowed to show things like: "Countries we operate in:" and then list something like Hong Kong, Macau and China among the other countries/territories... So it has to be something like "Regions we operate in:". Same with almost all other stuff... Gotta please the Chinese government if you want to do any business there and not have all your exhibition goods confiscated.
